Thyristor Capacitor Switching Module
The Thyristor Capacitor Switching Module is designed for real-time power factor correction. It consists of two main components: the Dynamic Switching Module (DSM), which is an electronic circuit housed in a DIN rail mount enclosure, and the Thyristor Power Stack (TPS), consisting of two thyristors mounted on a suitable heat sink. The DSM is a microcontroller-based design responsible for generating trigger pulses to control the TPS, ensuring zero voltage switching of the thyristors for smooth and transient-free operation. While the DSM remains consistent across all thyristor capacitor switching modules, the TPS varies according to the rated KVAr of the capacitor bank. These components are interconnected through simple wiring.
Key Features:
- Transient free switching
- Real time PF correction is possible
- Suitable to use with tuned and detuned filter reactor
- Relay provided for cooling fan to activate the fan only at bank ON
- Over temperature Protection
- Electronic circuitry is housed in the enclosure, so that suitable to work in dust environment
